The Board of the New Leader Scholarship has regretfully decided to declare a moratorium on any new scholarship applications for  2021. Currrent scholars may apply for continuing scholarships. We will revisit this moratorium as circumstances change.

Scholarship Opportunities

The New Leader Scholarship of the Marin Community Foundation annually awards scholarships of up to $8,000 which may be renewed. Awardees may receive additional support for graduate school application costs and graduate school tuition. Applicants NEED NOT be Marin County residents to qualify. Application deadline is March 10th. Please refer to guideline links below. Watch recent video of New Leader Scholar Awards.

The New Leader Scholarship consists of support for undergraduate students attending one of the five Bay Area public universities. In addition, we provide support for New Leader Scholars that have received an award as an undergraduate and attend graduate school at a public university in California. All Scholars can apply for graduate school preparation support (regardless of the graduate school location) and assistance with other personal health related services.

New Guidelines and Applications are updated in mid-January for the upcoming academic year. Deadline for submission is March 10th.
